Nurturing Creativity
Step outside your everyday pressures and tasks to gain new perspective. Explore your story and power with a new sense of wonder - to recharge your ability to build, make, see - and just be.
Modern life seems to serve up an endless buffet of entertainment and thought, delivered to your fingertips 24 hours a day. When we are constantly told how to feel and what to think, it’s easy to lose our connection to ourselves - and creative practices are a direct path back to that connection.
"The desire to create is one of the deepest yearnings of the human soul."
-- Dieter F. Uchtdorf
When was the last time you wrote freely, doodled, or sketched and colored something from your imagination? Maybe you haven’t done this since you were a child - or maybe you’ve never thought of yourself as creative.
This is not an art class - and no prior experience with art, ink, paint, or any medium is needed. This is a half-day, small-group experience focused on reclaiming your ability to explore your own imagination - not create art for others…although you might be surprised by the beauty that you will find through these contemplations and exercises.
This retreat will provide tools you can apply in your daily life for accessing your creative nature - as a path to peace and introspection, and even as a way to express yourself or create for others. We will learn to work with our inner critic and our busy busy mind, and move through the blocks that often hold us back from creating. We will learn how to quell our anxieties by observing them and recording them in a personal, safe, and therapeutic practice. This quick and easy half day retreat will calm you, and provide you with creative tools you can use every day.
